Dear Colleagues and Friends,

It is with great enthusiasm we welcome you to the upcoming Congress of the Scandinavian Society for Hand Surgery (SSSH) and Scandinavian Hand Therapists 19-22 of August 2026.

We have worked diligently to create an engaging and invigorating program to enrich the knowledge and skills of hand surgeons and therapists alike. 

This congress is not only about science and clinical excellence it is also about people. The heart of our profession lies in collaboration, and the value of cooperation cannot be overstated.

By coming together, in the beautiful city of Oslo, we can exchange ideas, challenge perspectives, and inspire one another. The congress is designed to be an arena where knowledge flows freely and where new fellow- and friendships are formed across borders and disciplines. 

Our program features a dynamic mix of lectures, seminars, free presentations, poster sessions, and social events. We are particularly committed to supporting young researchers, offering them a platform to present their work and engage with experienced colleagues. Their fresh perspectives and innovative ideas are vital to the future of our field, and we encourage their active participation.

The SSSH has invited the Dutch Society for Hand Surgery and the Belgian Hand group together with the Dutch and Belgian Hand therapists as guest societies. It will  greatly enrich the congress. 

The program includes parallel sessions tailored for both surgeons and therapists, as well as joint sessions that highlight the importance of interdisciplinary cooperation. Attendees can look forward to sessions on the latest results in arthroplasty surgery of the hand, reconstruction of wrist and hand function, as well as innovations and new techniques. In depth lectures as well as industry sponsored lunch symposia will provide further opportunities for learning and interactive dialogue.

With the theme of the meeting centered around arthroplasties, reconstruction, and innovation, we will explore the full spectrum of surgery and therapy, ensuring that participants leave with new insights and practical knowledge. 

Equally important as the educational side is the cultural and social dimension of the congress. Our social program will feature a welcoming reception and the always memorable SSSH conference dinner and party in Oslo. We want the congress to be not only a scientific meeting but also a social exchange, enriching us as professionals and individuals.
